Members of the Macon Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter recently attended the 2013 Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference held on April 21, 22, and 23 in Columbia, Missouri.
FBLA is a career and technical student 3,000 members and advisers representing 452 chapters throughout the state met to elect state officers, transact business of the state chapter, participate in leadership and career workshops, and compete in the state leadership awards program.
Placing in the top 10 were Brooke Bernhardt, Anna Kacmar, and Valerie Schmidt—3rd in Banking and Financial Systems and Brooke Bernhardt—8th in Business Procedures. Other members competing were Brennan Claas, Kaleb Welch, Blake Burden, Hunter DeLarm, Grace Smith, Allison Bright, Jessica Young, Cheyenne Rector, Nicole Lucas, and Madeline Hasten. Voting delegates were Jack Dwiggins, Allie Smoot, and Kyra Oliver. Ruth Rash, William King and Richelle Shoemaker, local chapter advisers, accompanied the students to the conference.
In addition to the awards, the chapter was awarded many certificates for their participation in state events—In Praise of Age, March of Dimes, Environmental Awareness, and the State Food Project.
