    Paul Poteet submitted the winning design for the Macon Centennial Seal for the Centennial celebration. He received $25 for winning.
    Strong Industrial Equipment Company was holding an open house for the 6,500 ft. addition to their business.
    Sale ad from Temple Stephens listed the following: Chuck roast for 39 cents a pound, 1/2 gallon of mild for 29 cents, Jello-O for 5 cents a box, ground beef or bulk sausage for 5 pounds for $1.
    Mrs. Marvin Hildreth was honored with a Cradle Shower given by Mrs. Don Fleming and Mrs. J.T. Browning.
    Tennis shoes were on sale at P.N. Hirsh for $1 a pair, regularly $1.98.
