Math activities were in the air at the Macon R-1 Elementary School 5th Grade Math Fun Day held on Saturday, April 13.
Shelly Spain, one of the organizers of the event said that 20 students participated in the various activities that centered around mathematics.
"We do a Math Fun Day two times a year," said Spain. "One in the spring and one in the fall."
The other faculty organizers included Lindsey Stadler, Tracee Claas and Tonya Grant.
Some of the planned activities included:
• Using measuring skills to made dirt pie and pizzas
• Making Flubber and Kool-Aid Playdough
• Solving problems using logic
• Measuring Scavenger Hunt
• Bubble Mania (blowing large bubbles and measuring their diameter
The students received prizes for participating in the events.
