  • "I hope everyone is H.A.P.P.Y., happy," yells Scout Master Mark Thomas. "How are the happy spaghetti makers doing?"
Thomas is one of the many leaders supervising Saturdays Spaghetti Supper fundraiser—a fundraiser that has been revitalized after a 10-year break.
"They used to do this event for nearly 80 years, but haven't done it for about 10," said Thomas. "I don't know who dropped the tradition, but we are reviving it!"
The spaghetti supper was a joint effort between both Boy Scout Troop 81 and Cub Scout Pack 85 and was held at the First Christian Church Activity Center. Tickets were sold in advance and also at the door.
"The fundraiser is to offset the costs of going to summer camp," said Survival Scout Master Rich Bright. "Camp costs $250 per person to send them and it's a lot of money so we use this to help fund that."
The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts served approximately 175 individuals Saturday evening and earned a little over $1,100.
"It is just fun to help the people," said Boy Scout Nolan Bright. "And to get good food afterward."
