Approximately 15 individuals took to Long Branch State Park on Wednesday, April 3, to create fishing habitats out of brush.
"This will give the fish a place to live and get out of the sun when it gets too hot," said Macon County Conservation Agent Matt Bergfield. "It also gives fisherman a concentrated ground to catch fish."
Brush, which was cleared from the state park, was put onto boats, tied to cinder blocks and thrown into the lake.
"The blocks tied to the branches are to hold them down in the water," said Bergfield. "Eventually they will be saturated with water so they'll stay down
