On April 3rd, at 6:58 p.m., the Macon Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a
natural cover fire on Lakeshore Drive. 3 firetrucks and 13 firefighters responded to the
The fire department arrived on scene at 7:02 p.m. to find a large area of vegetation and some trees on fire between the shore of the lake and the road. The fire was extinguished with approximately 750 gallons of water. The fire became out of control when the person who started it left. Between 2 and 3 acres of vegetation was burned.
No other actions were taken and the fire department was clear of the scene and in quarters at 8:09 p.m.
