The search for an elderly northern Missouri woman who went missing on Friday, November 16 may be over.
According to Chariton County Coroner Larry Breshear, unidentified human remains were found Friday, March 29 in rural Chariton County.
The family of Wanda "Jean" Boxley, 82, of Laclede said a hunter found Boxley's car Friday in a field southeast of Marceline. The car was stuck in the mud, had caught fire and was charred. The body, presumably Boxley's, was found about 60 yards away from the car. The hunter didn't notice the body, he had taken the license number into town and saw Boxley's "Missing" poster and called the Sheriff's office.
The death is under investigation and an autopsy has been scheduled in Columbia. Results are pending.
