On April 1, at approximately 10:30 a.m., two suspects for thefts and a homicide were found and taken into custody in Macon.
The two suspects whose names have not been released were caught shoplifting on Sunday, March 31, at Walmart in Moberly. The subjects got into a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Macon and left the scene.
Shortly after the vehicle was located, the Randolph County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene of a fire in which a vehicle had been set on fire. Five minutes later, Randolph County got a call of a vehicle accident on County Road 2515. And ten minutes later they were called to Route D in regards to two subjects being shot. Both subjects were transported to the hospital for treatment.
A truck owned by one of the victims of the shooting was stolen and later wrecked. Randolph County was later called to a residence on Route BB where a woman was assaulted and her vehicle stolen. The vehicle is a white, Saturn Vue.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., Macon Police Department was contacted to assist the Moberly Police Department, Randolph County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol in the Macon area.
Around midnight, Moberly Police attempted contact with the owner of the vehicle which had been burned in the county and found the 92 year old victim deceased. At this time, the death is being investigated as suspicious and no further details are available at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
At 8:30 a.m. on April 1, information was received that the suspects were possible in a residence in the 100 block of West Third Street. While the Missouri State Highway Patrol tactical unit was en-route to the area, numerous subjects exited the residence including the two suspects sought by law enforcement. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and were later transported back to Randolph County for further investigation.
