  • Macon R-I Superintendent Dr. Chuck Stockton has reported the following action from the executive session following the March 21 Macon Board of Education regular monthly meeting:
    • The Board took action to renew the contracts of the non-tenured or probationary teaching staff for the 2013-14 school year. No action was required of the Board on tenured or permanent teaching staff as their contracts, by Missouri stature, continues in force from year to year until modified, terminated, resignation or retirement.Additionally, the Board extended the contracts of district administrative staff.
    • The board approved the hire of Kimberly Brown, Elementary Music teacher.
    • The Board accepted the resignation of Linda Samp, High School and Elementary School art teacher.
    • The board accepted the retirement of Mary Besgrove, Elementary School Special Education teacher.
    The board has scheduled a re-organizational meeting on Tuesday, April 16, at 6 p.m. in the central conference room with the two new members who will be elected in the April 2 election. A board training session may be included following the reorganization.
    The next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 18 at 6 p.m. in the conference room.
