According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, on Thursday at approximately 3:10 p.m. Courtney Thomas, 17, of New Cambria was traveling eastbound on MO 149 when she failed to yield. She pulled into the path of Jimmy Jacobs, 47, also of New Cambria who was traveling southbound. Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway.
Thomas was not wearing her safety device and suffered serious injury. She was flown to University Hospital in Columbia by Air Evac. Her Chrysler Concord was considered totaled at the scene.
Jacobs was not wearing his safety device and suffered minor injury. He is seeking his own medical treatment. His Dodge truck acquired moderate damage.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Macon County Sheriff's Department, Macon County Ambulance, Macon County Rescue Squad and New Cambria Fire Department.
