Community Betterment Chairman Jack Briggs appeared before the Macon R-I Board of Education to request funds to help with the building of 4 tennis courts. The estimated cost of the courts is around $16,500.
William D. Cook, son of Mr. & Mrs. Virgil Cook of Callao Received a B.S. degree in Agriculture, Cum Laude and Honors Scholar from the University of Missouri.
Six regular Macon Firemen and six volunteer firemen attended a University of MO Firemanship Education Course. Attending were: Raymond Humphrey Jr., Kenneth Cox, Raymond Bloomberg, Dean English, Leroy Clark, Howard Mercer, Russell Kohl, Dewane Leathers, Bill Tabor, L.B.
