  • Yes there were cinnamon rolls, but that wasn't the only sweet treat attendees of Tuesday's Veterans Day Breakfast were in for.
Students of the Immaculate Conception School performed various songs before breakfast such as "This Land Is Your Land," "Yankee Doodle" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy."
According to ICS music teacher, Amy Parkinson, the students had been preparing for the event for six weeks.
"The students did great and worked really hard," said Parkinson.
The 7th and 8th graders planned the event by making it a timeline—songs starting with the Revolutionary War first then all the way up to World War II.
"It was really creative how they thought of it," said Parkinson.
And veterans in attendance did appreciate the performance done in their honor, as well.
"I really enjoyed it," said Veteran Don Brown. "It's great that the students are all willing to participate."
After the performance, attendees and students got to enjoy a breakfast of cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit.
