Try saying fish fry Friday three times fast. Or in this case, 350 times.
The Knights of Columbus held its annual fish fry on Friday, Feb. 8 and ended up serving 350 individuals.
"I am very happy with the number of people who came out," said Grand Knight Brian Kempker. "It was the best turnout we have ever had."
The fundraiser earned approximately $3,000. The profits earned go toward the Immaculate Conception School. Specifically, it goes toward any updates and maintenance the school and church may need.
"It's our way of creating revenue to give back to our church and school," said Kempker.
There are 95 men in Macon who are involved in Knights of Columbus, which is a worldwide Catholic fraternal benefit society. These individuals caught all of the fish that was fried prior to the event.
"We team up and all go fishing," said Kempker. "It's just something we do every year."
