According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Friday, Feb. 8 at 11:30 a.m., Nichole Chick of Clarence, 25, was driving southbound on highway K with her son Evan Waller, 5, when Chick ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a utility pole brace cable and then overturned. The accident was 2 miles south of Tenmile. Both the driver and her son were wearing their safety devices, were transported to University Hospital in Columbia by a Macon County Ambulance and suffered minor injuries. The Toyota Corolla was considered totaled at the scene.
Sunday, Feb. 10 at 6:37 p.m., Mary Burris, 17, of Callao was driving eastbound on Old U.S. 36 when she attempted to pass on a hillcrest. Burris served back to the right off the roadway when she overcorrected, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. The accident was two miles east of Bevier. Burris and passenger, Julieanne Veerremans, 15, of Callao were transported to Samaritan Hospital by a Macon County Ambulance. Burris and Veerremans were not wearing their safety devices and only suffered minor injury. The Chevrolet Lumina was considered totaled at the scene.
