Marion Hendry Brower, 91, of Macon, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Samaritan Hospital in Macon.
Marion was born on September 29, 1921, in Pella, IA, the son of Hendry Nanna and Emma Etta (Wheeler) Brower. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. Marion was united in marriage to Beverly B. Bell on December 25, 1945, in Lakeview, IA. He was a member of the Macon Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Marion was an electrical contractor for many years and enjoyed woodworking, remodeling houses, fishing in Minnesota, hunting, gardening, and especially spending time with his family and his dog named Tag.
Marion is survived by three sons, Greg Brower and his wife Trish, Mike Brower and his wife Jeannie, and Randy Brower and his wife Sandra "Sam" of Macon, three daughters, Darla McCracken and her husband Charles of Sun Lake, AZ, Jana Le Hartung of Ten Mile, MO, and Tafi Brower of Mesa, AZ, 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on July 14, 1998, one granddaughter, Tia LeAnn Callaway, one great-grandson, Levi, two brothers, Elliott Brower and William Brower, and two sisters, Dena Vershire and Iva Brower.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with John Sights officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery in Ten Mile. Visitation will from 5-7 pm, Friday evening, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery.
