  • Peter Robbins, Former Voice of Charlie Brown, Arrested on Five Felony Charges

    Peter Robbins, who voiced the head of the Peanuts gang during the late 1960s, was arrested Monday in San Diego and charged with five felonies, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
    Robbins, 56, is charged with four felony counts of making a threat to cause death or great bodily injury, and one felony count of stalking, according to the San Diego police.

    Robbins was arrested shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. He was trying to cross the border when an officer referred him to a another area for a more thorough examination, at which point a systems check determined that Robbins was wanted by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department for a felony warrant. Robbins was then booked into jail at approximately 4 a.m. Monday and was being held on $550,000 bail.
    Robbins voiced Charlie Brown in some of the character's most popular specials, including A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, as well as the film A Boy Named Charlie Brown. He voiced the character from the age of 9 until age 14, when his voice changed. He later appeared in TV shows such as The Munsters and Get Smart.
