The Tri-County Christian School started the project for a new school in May 2012 and is almost completed with phase two of three.
"We are excited," said Principal Kala Bunse. "The students didn't initially realize what is going on. They just started to say, 'what is going to be in that building?'"
The new building will contain a new library, classrooms as well as room for storage.
Currently the Tri-County Christian School has two separate buildings—one for daycare and preschool, the other for kindergarten through 8th grade.
"We were kindergarten through 6th grade and have been adding onto 8th," said Bunse. "We have just maximized all of our space."
The school is trying to raise funds for the building expansion as they go, so when the building is complete it will be debt free. They have completed stage one which was to raise $80,000. The total goal? To raise $120,000.
"Many individuals are donating their time which is a big expense right there," said Bunse. "We have even had people that have donated rock, dirt and other things for the building. We just know there are changes going around, but it's exciting!"
