Macon Moment in History Jan. 8, 1987

The following Macon Moments in History were taken from the January 8, 1987 edition of the Macon Chronicle-Herald.

On the front page Utility Superintendent reported that the water & sewer rates in Macon would be increasing effective March 1, 1987. Jensen said it was the first increase since May 1985.

The Macon Tigers beat the South Shelby Cardinals 44-21. Kent Murdock led the way with 12, Brad Thompson had 11, Chris Wilson had 8, Byron Halterman had 7 and Shane Patrick had 6.

Chapter BZ, PEO met at the home of Gaye Quranto. Elizabeth Gaines was co-hostess. Mrs. Pat Helton was initiated as a new member. Azalea Walker and Susan McCarty gave the program on Cottey Junior College.
