  • Virginia (Hutton) Alvord age 96 was born near Jacksonville, MO, daughter of Frank Glen and Anna Jewell (Durham) Hutton. She married Donald E. Alvord October 4th, 1962. She had one step son, William R. Alvord and wife Julia, 4 step grandchildren, Michelle, Erica, Jessica and Brendan Alvord all of Defiance, MO. Virginia was a member of the First Christian Church of Macon. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary; she served as President for 4 yrs. She was also a member of and past President of the former H.E.O. Club of Macon. She was also a member and past president of the Long Branch Trailer Club. She worked for Macon Produce/F.M. Stamper Co. now known as ConAgra for 30 years and retired in 1967. She loved sewing, cooking and traveling and spending time with all of her family. She enjoyed seeing her grandchildren growing up and loved them as her own.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Alvord, her parents, two brothers, William G. Hutton and Frank G. Hutton and one sister, Katherine (Hutton) Burse. She leaves a niece and 5 nephews.
    She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
    Funeral services will be Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 11:30 am, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens north of Macon. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial can be made to the Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch.
