  • Wednesday, Dec. 14, the Macon Police Department responded to a report of a 10-year-old boy being chased in the 600 block of Jackson Street by two older boys carrying weapons—a knife and a hachett.
"We couldn't find our suspects on Wednesday night, but after contacting a juvenile officer we made contact with them the next day at school," said Macon Police Chief Steve Olinger.
After interviewing additional witnesses and obtaining more information, a 16-year-old juvenile was turned over to Macon County Juvenile authorities for handling while 17-year old, Mason Doyle, was arrested for felony unlawful use of a weapon.
Police arrested Doyle and transported him to the Macon County Jail on Monday. He is being held without bond at this time.
"It's one thing for a kid to do something ornery," said Chief Olinger. "But when you are talking about weapons like this it is absolutely ridiculous. They know what they are doing and they know they are causing a concern."
Doyle's initial arraignment will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Main Chamber Courtroom.
