The Anti-Rust Club met Monday, Dec. 10, at the home of Helen Neff for its annual Christmas dinner. Fourteen members and one guest ate a lunch of ham and cheese sandwiches marinated in poppy seed dressing, broccoli soup and brownies. There was no formal business meeting.
Helen Neff’s home was decorated for the Christmas season. Kay Gilbert read the story of Christ's birth from the second chapter of the book of Luke. Donna Gilbert shared a poster on which was written many of the names Jesus is called and the scripture reference showing where it is found in the Bible. A few are Savior, Counselor, Messiah, and Prince of Peace. There were 35 names on the poster and Donna said it hangs in a prominent place in her bedroom where it is the first thing she sees in the morning and the last thing she sees at night. Thelma Dawson and Twila Sarazine played Christmas carols on the piano while the ladies joined them in singing. The rest of the afternoon was spent visiting.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at the Methodist Church meeting room with Merlyn Amidei and Donna Ayers in charge of a program on animals, another thing of beauty.
