Bloody Face has a dirty little secret: He's a daddy!
Wednesday's episode of American Horror Story: Asylum is proof that our theory wasn't so sick after all: The future Bloody Face, aka Johnny Morgan (Dylan McDermott), is the son of Dr. Thredson (Zachary Quinto) and Lana Winters (Sarah Paulson). Morgan is just as dastardly as his dad - he's never been to medical school, but he still knows how to skin a woman. But when Johnny admits to his therapist that his last name is actually Thredson, it's a huge clue to what would eventually happen before the second season signs off: Dr. Thredson will be exposed for the brutal serial killer that he secretly is. When will that happen? And will Lana survive her pregnancy with little Johnny? We take a look this week's burning questions below:
Who is Johnny Morgan? Turns out Johnny grew up in foster care, discovering his Dexter-like want to skin animals as a child. But once he landed in jail, Johnny discovered who he really is: the son of Dr. Thredson, the original Bloody Face. From there, he decided to follow in pop's footsteps, even if he isn't quite as good at it - poor Teresa (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) lost her skin in a gruesome fashion. Even though he's turned to a therapist to curb his cravings, it doesn't look like Bloody Face will quit anytime soon, considering he murdered the shrink (Brooke Smith, a great hat tip to Silence of the Lambs.)
Will Lana survive her pregnancy? Lana leans the horrifying truth that she's pregnant with Thredson's baby - considering she's never slept with any other men, it's obviously him. And this kid really is the spawn of evil; he survived Lana's feeble attempt at a coat-hanger abortion. But Sister Mary Eunice (Lily Rabe) assures the expectant mother that she is still with child and it's a boy. It's too bad she can't let the father know his baby is still alive since Thredson somehow escaped Briarcliff. Here's hoping someone will discover Thredson's confession tape soon!
Will Sister Jude get her vengeance? The higher-ups at Briarcliff have conspired against Jude (Jessica Lange) to say she was the one who murdered Frank (Fredric Lehne) and held Lee Emerson (Ian McShane) hostage. Now Jude is locked up with the rest of the crazies, though it does provide her an opportunity to apologize to Lana and promise to make it up to her by helping her escape. We just hope Jude will be the one who gets to kill Lee Emerson in the end.
Will Monsignor Howard crack under the pressure? Monsignor Timothy Howard (Joseph Fiennes) seems very distraught over his role in setting up Sister Jude - and has previously shown an urge to want to come clean about the goings-on at Briarcliff, but that was shut down by Dr. Arden (James Cromwell). The question is: How much does he really know? Clearly he thought Lee Emerson was innocent, since he baptizes him. But no. Emerson then drowns the monsignor and crucifies him in Briarcliff's church. Will the monsignor survive? The Angel of Death's (Frances Conroy) presence at the end of the episode does not bode well for him.
Are the aliens real? Sure, we've seen the aliens in flashes, but they could just be figments of someone's imagination, right? But now that Kit (Evan Peters), Grace (Lizzie Brochere), Jude and Arden have all seen them, maybe they're actually real? Arden seems to think so, devising a plan to bring Kit close to death in hopes that the aliens will return to preserve their specimen. (Arden thinks the aliens are studying Kit specifically, since the two women he had sex with, his wife Alma and Grace, were also abducted.) But instead of returning to save Kit, the aliens drop off Pepper and the now-alive and super-pregnant Grace. Who's your baby-daddy, girl?! We hope it's Kit and not the aliens.
Is Kit Walker dead? Since Arden ran down the hall to follow the lights - and ended up finding Grace and Pepper instead - it seems unlikely that he'll have enough time to run back and inject Kit's heart with the "antidote" cocktail. But have the aliens already taken care of that? We'll just have to wait until next week to find out.
What did you think of this week's American Horror Story: Asylum? Do you hope Kit survives? Can Lana really trust Jude?
