Connie S. Foster, 71, of Macon, MO, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012, at the Macon Health Care Center in Macon.
Connie was born on August 16, 1941, in Macon, MO, the daughter of James Leathers and Bessie Mae (Reinier) Hall, and the youngest of 16 children. Connie was a homemaker and mother to four daughters. While continuing to raise her family, Connie began college at the age of 40, receiving her Bachelors of Education from Northeast Missouri State University in 1985. She proceeded to teach the 2nd and 3rd grades in the Macon School District for 19 years. Connie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Macon, R.E.C.E.S.S., and Retired Teacher Association in Macon. Connie enjoyed her friends, genealogy, decorating and flower arranging, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Julie Belt and husband Jeff of Macon, Jeannie Foster of Liberty, MO, Jennifer Barr and husband Travis of Centralia, MO; four grandchildren, Trevor Belt of Excelsior Springs, MO, Tyler Belt of Columbia, MO, Mariah and John Mason Barr of Centralia, MO; four siblings, Robert Hall of Sand Point, ID, Emogene Herrin of Indianapolis, IN, Richard Hall and wife Martha of Moberly, MO, Bill Hall and wife Margaret of Macon, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Janie Sue Foster, and 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 1 pm at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens north of Macon. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Samaritan Dialysis Center in Macon.
