  • The following Macon Moments in History were taken from the December 10, 1982 edition of the Macon Chronicle-Herald.
    Macon Elementary first grade teacher Phyllis Belt and her class were pictured selecting the Christmas tree for their classroom on the property of former assistant high school principal Jim Sears.
    Windows were being installed in the former Jefferson Hotel that was being turned into senior citizen housing.
    Kelly Smith of Clarence was appointed chairman of the Missouri Farm Bureau Young Farmer state committee.
    The Poor Macon Toe Band was providing music New Year’s Eve 1982 at the Brass Lantern in Moberly.
