  • Holiday wreck injures two in New Cambria

  • A one-vehicle wreck in New Cambria on Thanksgiving Day resulted in serious injuries to the driver and minor injuries to a passenger.

  • A one-vehicle wreck on Thanksgiving Day resulted in serious injuries to the driver and minor injuries to a passenger.
    According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the mishap occurred at shortly after noon on Highway Z, one mile west of of Highway 149 at the north edge of New Cambria.
    The patrol said Shawn M. Robinson, 43, of Waukee, Iowa the driver of a 2006 Honda Civic was eastbound and traveling too fast for conditions. Robinson failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the right side of the roadway, over corrected and slid off the left side of the roadway coming to rest in the ditch.
    He was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.
    A passenger, Kimberly A. Gaul, 11, of Ethel was transported by private vehicle to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.
    Both were wearing seatbelts, according to the report.
    Assisting at the scene were Macon County Ambulance, Macon County Rescue Squad, New Cambria Fire and First Responders.
