On Tuesday an assembly was held in the Macon Middle School Gym for the November "Hunger Games". Elementary Principal Ernest Motley won a school wide vote (by canned food donated) and received a pie in the face. Motley won the competition among the Macon R-1 administrators with over 500 cans donated. "Hunger Games" is the Macon FBLA's part of a statewide food drive project entitled "Show-Me Under: Unite the Fight" with other Career and Technical Education Organizations. Over 700 food items were collected and delivered to the Macon County Ministries Emergency Food Pantry during the month. FBLA members will be doing several projects throughout the school year not only to collect donations for the food pantry, but to raise awareness of hunger.
