  • Bevier Wildcats pounds on Madison

  • The Bevier Wildcat varsity basketball teams began their season Monday night with a road trip to Madison to take on the Panthers.
    In the girls game, the Lady Cats would claim their first victory with a 41-35 win over Madison.
    Tayler Hedworth led the Lady Cats with 17 points and eight rebounds.
    Memphis Buster and Beth Ashenfelter followed with 12 points and seven rebounds each.
    In the boys game, the Wildcats would finish off the sweep with a 72-49 win over the Panthers.
    Colby Peukert led the Wildcats with 24 points, three rebounds and two steals. Brett Peukert was next with 16 points.
    Jesse Ashenfelter scored 12 points. McKenzey Pipes had eight points. Seth Shurvington scored seven points. Jonathan Basler added five points.
    The Bevier teams move to 1-0 overall (0-0 TCC) and will participate in the Novinger Tournament next week.
    The Lady Cats hold the 8th seed and will play Scotland County Monday night at 7 p.m.
    The Bevier boys hold the 5th seed and play Atlanta Monday at 5:45 p.m.
