The Community Christmas Card will once again give the community the opportunity to provide help for some of Macon County's less fortunate citizens at Christmas time. This is the 29th year the project has been sponsored by the Macon Chronicle Herald and the Macon Women of Today.
Donations may be brought to the C-H office or mailed to: C-H Community Christmas Card, P.O. Box 7, 204 West Bourke, Macon, MO. 63552.
CHECKS NEED TO BE MADE OUT TO MACON WOMEN OF TODAY. Be sure to include at least one dollar for every name listed.
Donations will be accepted now, through Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 5 p.m.
A list of the individuals that have contributed one dollar or more to the card fund during the preceding week will be printed on Friday, Nov. 23, Friday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 7.
On Friday, Dec. 14 the Chronicle-Herald will print the entire list of contributors. In order to be listed on the final Christmas Card, all contributions must be received by Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 5 p.m.
Money contributed to the card will go to purchase food for baskets that will be assembled and delivered by the Macon Women of Today. Any money contributed that is not needed to fill the baskets will be donated to the Macon County Ministries Emergency Food Pantry.
A total of $2,866 was collected for the Community Christmas Card last year, the second highest total in the history of the project.
