  • The following Macon Moments in History were taken from the November 15, 1982 edition of the Macon Chronicle-Herald.
    Macon Postmaster Harold Gene McLeland was chosen from a field of 16 applicants to become the Postmaster of the Jefferson City Post Office.
    Gene McClanahan, director of the Macon Electric Cooperative was appointed as district representative to the Member and Public Relations Committee of the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives. (AMEC).
    Coach Bob Wilhite's Immaculate Conception Girl's team took 1st. place in the Renick Tournament beating the host team 20-18. Valle Wilhite led the way with 10 points, Christine Wavering had 3 and Angie Stark and Tricia Maloney each had 2.
