Louella June Malcolm, 88, of Macon, passed from this life into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Loch Haven Nursing Home. Louella was born on November 21, 1923 in Iowa to Frank and Eva Bradley.
She was the devoted wife of David R. Malcolm whom she married on June 18, 1955, at Council Bluffs, Iowa and remained so until the day of his passing on September 6, 1996. Louella worked as a CNA for Loch Haven Nursing Home for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters; Linda Jackson and husband John of Columbia, Marty Cockrum and husband Eddie of Macon, Patty Hendren and husband Jimmy of rural Huntsville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Eddie Carl Cockrum of Moberly, David and Joshua Cockrum of Kansas City, Mo. Amy Mckinzie of Columbia, Emily Reynolds of Centralia, Cpl. Nathaniel Hendren of Kaneohe Bay, HI, Anastasya Hendren of Huntsville and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and three brothers. Jenny Davis of Iowa, Zella Campbell of California, Gene Bradley South Carolina, Bob Bradley of Oklahoma and Lloyd Bradley of Iowa.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Wallace Reed, granddaughter Wendy Kaye Peacher, sister Doreen Watts and brothers Vern Bradley, Ira Bradley, Lester Bradley and Carl Bradley.
Louella will be remembered for her love for her family. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her Christmas candy making and generous heart for others.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 15, 2012, at 10:30 am, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Cox Post Office. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the Funeral Home. Memorial can be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
