  • The following Macon Moments in History were taken from the Nov. 1, 1982 edition of the Macon Chronicle-Herald.
    Sam Wilson of Macon was among four hunters that were struck by lightening six miles southeast of Kirksville.
    The South Shelby Cardinals defeated the Macon Tigers 27-6. Macon Quarterback Troy Murdock got Macon’s only score on a quarterback sneak with 29 seconds left in the first half.
    Daryl Tebenkemp & Dennis Argotsinger were the registered pharmacists at the Matco Pharmacy.
    Cottage cheese was 85 cents, a loaf of bread was 39 cents and a 8-pack of bottled coke was 79 cents plus deposit at Ron’s Super Value.
