The Macon R-1 School District had a 63-cent increase in the school’s operating levy on the November ballot. Superintendent Dr. Judy Brown answered questions about the levy request.
Dr. Maria Evans, formerly of Macon got a hole-in-one at A.L. Gustin Golf Course in Columbia.
Incumbent Macon City Attorney Brad Funk filed for re-election. Second ward councilman Ernest Esry was being challenged by Barbara Primm. Also filing for office were: Paul Posey, Mike Bibbs, Scott Ziebarth, Phoebe Powell, Janet Gayle Waldron, Charlotte Cleaver and Floyd (Frank) Eaton.
