BMC Bulldogs sweep Brashear, Keytesville
The Jr. High basketball teams of Bucklin-MCR-IV have been on a roll lately.
On Friday, the Bulldog teams played host to the Brashear Tigers, and would come away with two victories.
In the girls game, the Lady Bulldogs would get out in front early, and would hold off a Brashear rally to claim a 36-27 win.
Cheyenne Peterson led the Lady Dogs with 12 points. Megan Liebhart followed with 11 points.
For the Bulldog boys, they have yet to lose a game, their closest win being against a previously unbeaten Green City squad.
The Bulldogs would cruise throughout the game, posting 22 points in the first quarter, and another 16 in the second, holding the Tigers to a combined 12 to lead 38-12 at halftime.
The Bulldog defense would stifle Brashear all night long, holding them to just three points in the second half, while scoring another 37 points to claim a 75-15 victory.
Brendan McKim led the Bulldogs with 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Dane Robertson followed with 15 points.
River Wright scored 13 points, grabbing nine boards and five steals. Dallas Epperson had 13 points, three assists and three steals.
Cyrus Hanson scored nine points and four steals. Benett Duncan and Curtis Mossbarger each tallied two points and five steals, and Justin Mossbarger added two points.
On Monday night, the BMC teams played host to a make-up doubleheader against Keytesville.
In the girls game, the Lady Bulldogs would play another close game, but again would come out on top, winning 33-22.
No further information was made available at press time.
In the boys game, the Bulldogs would put the clamp down on another opponent, defeating the Tigers of Keytesville 48-5.
Brendan McKim led the Bulldogs with 16 points and seven steals.
Cyrus Hanson followed with nine points and eight rebounds. River Wright had eight points, seven rebounds and eight steals.
Dane Robertson scored five points. Justin Mossbarger cashed in four points.
Dallas Epperson scored two points and four steals.
Curtis Mossbarger and Jarrod Poor each added two points.
The Bulldogs improved to 9-0 overall (5-0 TCC).
Bucklin-MCR-IV will be back in action tonight with a roadtrip to Purdin to take on the Linn County Mustangs.
The doubleheader starts at 6 p.m. with the girls' contest.
