• Couple arrested after brief standoff in Moberly

  • At approximately 1:20 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, members of the Moberly Police Department assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Randolph County Sheriff's Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, arrested Richard Randall Roe and Cathy L. Roe on two separate felony Randolph County warrants for drug violations. Both individuals were also wanted for questioning of a felonious assault that occurred in Moberly on Oct. 4.
    On Oct. 19, officers received information that Richard and Cathy Roe were inside a residence on Franklin Street. Law Enforcement officers immediately surrounded the residence and a Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT team was called to assist. Communication was made with Roe, and after a brief standoff, Richard and Cathy Roe were taken into custody peacefully.
    Richard Roe was arrested on the felony Randolph County warrant and was transported to the Moberly Police Department. Cathy Roe was arrested on the felony Randolph County Warrant and was transported to the Randolph County Jail.
    The Macon County Sheriff's Department, Macon Police Department, United States Secret Service, and the Missouri Department of Conservation also assisted in the investigation and subsequent apprehension of the Roe subjects.
