    J.C. Penney Co. announced that the Macon store will be closed by the end of 1982. The local store had been open since 1926.
    Jim Bolin, sports editor of the Macon Chronicle-Herald was elected District Commissioner of the Babe Ruth Baseball Assn.
    Kenneth Weber received a certificate for five years of service as a Macon Waste Treatment Plant operator.
    Dr. Quaranto announced the opening of his new office at 112 Butler.
