  • Joanne Barr passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
    Joanne was born March 15, 1933 to Gene and Ruth Ann Connor in Wichita, Kansas.
    Joanne attended Wichita North High School and went on to Nursing School to obtain her degree as a Registered Nurse.
    Joanne was an active member of St. George’s Episcopal Church and The Daughters of the King, a member of the St. George choir, an active member of the Elks Lodge #2705 where she was honored to be Lady Elk of the Year and Lady Elk Officer of the year.
    Joanne and Darrell Barr were much loved members of the community. Always giving of their time and always involved.
    Joanne was preceded in death this year by her husband Darrell Barr. She is survived by her three children, Jeff Watkins, Brenda Muncy, and Paula Wyant. Five grandchildren, Dillon Wyant, Kasey Hadlock, Madison Muncy, Annelise Collins , and Grant Watkins. One great grandson, Dominick Hadlock.
    A celebration of life is planned for November in Laurie, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the Elks Lodge #2705 Tree of Joy funds.
