  • Kevin Shoemaker, as Officer "D"esirable, was crowned Mr. Jugs 2012 at the Save a Rack Banquet on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Macon County Expo Center. The group of Mr. Jugs contestants are pictured from left to right, Brock Legan, Shoemaker, Wade Liebhart, Bern Orman, and Todd Lineberry. The winner was determined by the amount of dollar votes they collected. Orman received the People's Choice Award and Lineberry was voted "Miss" Congeniality by the other contestants. Alan Spencer served as master of ceremonies. This was the second year that the Macon Women of Today has organized the event to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Approximately $5,000 was raised for the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund and will be used by them to help individuals in Macon County fighting breast cancer. Event chairman, Lois Noland, said the final amount should almost double last year's total of $2,600. Xi Theta Sorority won the "Booby Trap" decorated bra contest with their entry, "Pistol Packin' Momma's". The second place entry was Gina Browning's "I have the right to protect my private property". Olivia Bealmer's "The original fast food" took third place honors. Watch for more photo in a photo gallery on our website at www.maconch.com.
