  • Margaret Emma Graves, 93, of Columbia, formerly of Macon, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012, at The Bluffs in Columbia, MO
    Margaret was born July 20, 1919, in New Cambria, MO, to Owen and Kate Roberts. She was married to Wm. Everett Graves on May 16, 1943, who preceded her in death on October 4, 1975. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Macon, a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother and a beloved housekeeper for several Macon families.
    Margaret is survived by four daughters, Mary Bentele of Macon, Carol Huffman and husband Harley of Rocky Mount, Jean Teter of Columbia, and Lou Matteson and husband Frank of Blue Springs. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and six nephews.
    In addition to her parents and her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by sisters Helen, Catherine, Olwen, and Mary; one brother Gwilym, grandson Donnie Huffman, great- granddaughter Alisha Huffman, and sons-in-law Kenneth Bentele and Floyd Teter.
    Funeral services will be Thursday, September 27, 2012, at 2:30 pm at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Pastor Sally Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, north of Macon. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, Mid-Missouri Chapter, and 2400 Bluff Creek Drive, Columbia, MO 65201
