  • The following Macon Moments in History were taken from the Sept. 18, 1998, edition of the Macon Chronicle-Herald.
    Frank Withrow has been selected acting director of Macon County Economic Development by the board.
    Elmer Kruel, former POW of WWII was part of a flag raising ceremony held at the Macon Post Office in honor those who served their country and never came home. Veteran Mike Miller played the bugle for the ceremony.
    The Macon Youth football teams played at Trenton. 5th grade lost 52-0 and the 6th grade tied 6-6. Nick Stueve threw a 62-yard pass to Tyler Grimes to help set up Macon's only score.
