La Plata Soybean Festival to be held Aug. 31 - Sept. 3

The La Plata Soybean Festival is slated for Aug. 31 - Sept. 3. The opening ceremony is to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday. Wrist bands will be available for the carnival from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

On Saturday, there will be venders in the park. Registration for a run is to begin at 7:30 a.m.

A washer tournament is to begin at 2 p.m. The Little Mr. and Miss LaPlata Contest is to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, followed by the Queen Soya Contest at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday, church services in the park will begin at 11 a.m. A teen dance is scheduled for Sunday night at 9.

On Monday, Sept. 3, a baby show is to be held at 9 a.m. Registration is to begin at 8:30 p.m. A parade is to be held at noon.
