A Bucklin teen died following a two-vehicle accident Wednesday night near Marceline.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 10:53 p.m., a 2002 Chevy TrailBlazer driven by Ashley Simpson, 24, of Marceline, was westbound on Route JJ, two miles west of Marceline when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck nearly head-on a 2004 Chevy Impala driven by Zachary Cupp, 17, of Bucklin.
Patrol said Simpson's vehicle came to rest off the north side of the road facing south. Cupp's vehicle came to rest off the south side of the road facing southwest.
Cupp was lifeflighted to University Hospital in Columbia where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m. by Dr. Jake Quick.
Simpson received moderate injuries and was taken by Linn County Ambulance to Pershing Hospital in Brookfield.
An occupant in Simpson's vehicle, Katrice Sartain, 27, of Marceline, received minor injuries and was also taken by Linn County Ambulance to Pershing Hospital in Brookfield.
Patrol said everyone was wearing seat belts. The patrol was assisted by Major Crash Team 1, the Linn County Sheriff's Department and Marceline First Responders.
