Thelma Grace (T.G.) Maddox, 89, of Macon, MO, passed away Sunday, July 08, 2012, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon. T.G. was born on April 05, 1923, the daughter of Thomas Vincent and Kathryn McClellen (McKethen) Sams. She was united in marriage to Robert William Maddox on July 8, 1944, in Oklahoma. Thelma was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was an active member and district leader of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Shelbina 49ers Club, Shelbina Garden Club, and enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, reading, and cooking. She is survived by four children: David Maddox and wife Cheryl of Pelzer, SC, Dr. Mark Maddox and wife Wilma of Macon, MO, Kathy Nelson and husband Scott of Macon, MO, and Mike Maddox of Middlesex, NY. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. T.G. was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Robert Bruce Maddox. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at 10 am at the United Methodist Church in Macon. Burial will be in the Shelbina Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch, which was a very important charity to T.G.
