  • Elks Lodge donates to community service groups

  • Pictured is a donation presentation by Macon Elks Lodge from the Elks Nation Foundation Gratitude Grant for meeting its per capita of $4.50 per member donation to the Elks Nation Foundation. Mark Thomas (left) of Macon Boy Scout Troop 81 received  a $600 check from Tim Slover, former member of Troop 81 and now an officer in the Macon Elks Lodge. This donation goes to the Boy Scouts to do community service such as putting out American flags in the  downtown area on special days. Checks for $200 was presented by Cecil Arnett, Exalted Ruler of Macon Elks Lodge, to Dana Kirks, manager of  DCS Macon County Head Start and Cindy Schaefer, executive director of Macon County Sheltered Workshop on behalf of the Gratitude Grant as well.
