  • Rotary Clubs making a difference-- two feet at a time

  • Pictured left, Stephanie Wilson (center), general manager of Macon Municipal Utilities and a member of the Macon Rotary Club, delivered shoes to the Rotary District 6040 Conference in Unity Village, May 19, as part of the district’s annual “Shoes for Orphan Souls” drive. Wilson delivered the shoes to District 6040 Past District Governor and Shoe Drive Chairman Larry Lunsford (right) and Scott Collins, vice president of Dallas-based Buckner International, the recipient of the shoes. Both Lunsford and Collins are from Macon and graduated from Macon R-I High School. The Macon Rotary Club joined more than 60 other Rotary clubs across Northeast Missouri. Dick Schlanker (pictured right) chaired the Macon County Rotary Shoe Drive assembling 447 pairs of shoes. District 6040 members collected more than 14,000 pairs of new shoes and more than $12,000 in cash this year.
